The Gale Eckington Tenants Association was formed in 2022 as part of the DC TOPA process with the property's sale to Jonathan Rose Companies. Latino Economic Development Center was pivotal in guiding the establishment of this association.
The goal of the tenant association to is promote the common interests of the residents of The Gale Eckington.
Membership is open to those that are over 18 years of age and are current leaseholders at The Gale Eckington. The Tenants Association is led by a nine member volunteer board that is directly elected by the members.

As part of the TOPA process and as a condition of the sale of the property, the tenants association was able to negotiate a number of items in a legally binding agreement with the new property owner, Jonathan Rose Companies.
